Private Lessons with Jim O.
Jim O.

Jim is an experienced music teacher specializing in acoustic guitar and violin/fiddle. He holds a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and has also received formal voice training at the Beinhorn Vocal Academy in Houston and Austin. His broad musical background allows him to bring a well-rounded perspective to every lesson while helping students build both skill and confidence.
Outside of music, Jim is an avid cyclist and an extreme dog lover. His warmth, energy, and genuine enthusiasm for the things he loves naturally carry over into his teaching.
What Jim loves most about teaching is seeing the excitement students feel when they master a new skill. He especially enjoys watching his students perform at recitals and seeing their confidence grow as they share what they’ve learned. Most of all, Jim loves helping students awaken—or reawaken—their love of playing and their connection to their instrument.
Whether a student is picking up an instrument for the first time or returning to music after years away, Jim creates an encouraging environment where students can grow, have fun, and feel proud of their progress. Parents can feel confident knowing their child is learning from a teacher who genuinely cares about both their musical development and their enjoyment of the journey.
